Woke up bright and early and got my McD’s Iced Coffee with one pump of Sugar Free Vanilla Syrup before heading out to The OC Great Park Antique Flea Market which occurs on the first Sunday of every month. Free admission + free parking.

The actual park itself is super nice as is everything in Irvine. It’s clean and the people are friendly. I definitely want to take the kids here because they have a huge carousel, hot air balloon, farmer’s market, and a kid’s playground area. It would be nice to just have a picnic here.

The flea market opens at 7, so we had a few hours to look around before meeting my hubs and the kids at church. It was amazing to see so many shoppers there with heavy duty carts – they meant business.

I wasn’t looking for anything in particular which is probably dangerous. I saw a bookcase I wanted, artwork, and an outdoor patio table. Thank goodness I didn’t bring enough money or else I would have probably came home with one of those things. The prices seem fairly reasonable, but I’m no flea market/vintage expert. I have no clue what to expect to pay for some of this stuff, esp when they tell me something is from the 30s, 40s, etc.

Random things for everyone! My friend bought a cute navy blue globe on a silver stand for $18 for her boy’s room. Here are my purchases…

Velvet ribbon for $1 a piece. Vintage trim for $2. More hair clips for the girls and trim for the lil sprinkles dolls?

$2 art on the top left next to my clock. It’s an old picture of sea coral. I needed something to spruce up my bookshelf.

My fave purchase – two old schoolhouse chairs. $15 for both. I liked the look of Restoration Hardware’s Vintage Schoolhouse Chairs, so when I saw these it reminded me of those chairs.

I was contemplating on whether or not to spray paint the steel to a dark metal color, but they’re in pretty great condition. I kinda don’t want to mess with them. While the kids were napping, I gave them a good scrub down and they’re drying out in the sun.

I have white Ikea Kritter chairs that the girls sit on at their play table. One chair has given me so many problems – the nails keep coming off because the holes were made too big. My hubs has tried so many ways to secure it, but they somehow fall off and the seat becomes wobbly. These chairs will be their replacement!
