Summer is HERE!
Since summer officially started last week, I decided to get my butt into gear for the summer season. I’m trying to be diligent about my running schedule to get ready for bathing suit season. A one piece swimsuit still is baring, so I need to step it up!
I’ve had my Nike running shoes for 8 years now, and I think it’s time to buy a new pair. Not because I want to spend more money, but since my feet grew during pregnancy and never went down to my original size, my running shoes are pretty snug. This is probably harming me than anything because I know investing in good running shoes is important since the bones in my feet have to absorb all this impact. I tried on these Nike FreeRun+ 3 shoes the other day during my lunch hour, and I’m probably going to go ahead with these. There is one perk of working near shopping centers. I don’t have to do this kind of stuff on my weekends.
They have them in turquoise, lime green, and fuchsia too. I’m tempted to go for a fun color, but I think in the end I’ll change my mind last minute! Story of my life. They’re really light on my feet and flexible. My neighbors run up to 20 miles a week, and I’m in awe because they have that much stamina and persistence to do this 4x a week. They are training for a marathon, and I’m hoping maybe I can join them…SOMEDAY! For now, my 3 mile runs are enough for me, and I hope to maintain this so I could get in somewhat shape for my Big Bear trip in August.
We booked this BB trip with some friends for a weekend getaway. I’m SO excited, especially because I know there are a lot of kid friendly activities to do around that area. Our cabin is equipped with a game room and is pet friendly (two dogs will be joining us!), so I’m hoping they’ll have as much fun indoors as they do near the lake which is a few minutes’ drive from us. BBQs, fishing, paddle boarding…I SOOOOO want to try this!

Even little ones can do it too! I wonder if my oldest will be willing to go on with me with a life jacket? The girl sitting down pictured to the right looks to be 2-3 yrs old??
