Exercise Post 1
The hubby and I went to the gym together for the first time in a VERY long time. I swear I chuckled to myself several times while I was watching him fumble with the elliptical and not be able to change the channel while still pumping his legs. I mean seriously, I know men are not as good at multi-tasking but cmon. Moving legs plus pressing a few buttons shouldn’t be that hard to do. After I ran a couple miles, I went to the stretching/sit up area.
My new fave stomach exercise is the one where you are at a crunch pose but move a weighted ball side to side. It’s hard to do. I have to rest after every 4 or 5 twists. I saw it done once on a commercial, and I was inspired to do it at the gym since they have those weighted balls. I had to youtube a girl doing it because I wanted to make sure I had the right form. It’s quite tricky you know! The hubs wouldn’t dare do such a silly ab exercise with me, so he went on some of the machines. He was back after 5 minutes with the look of I’m ready to go home and watch football. I told him before we leave that he had to take a pic of me doing one of the arm workout machines, and now here we are to my first post on exercising and shedding the final pounds from baby weight. I kept that pic of me with my stomach folds and all as a reminder that I need to get back into shape. I know I’ve written about this before, but seriously it bugs me that after 30, it’s SO INSANELY hard to lose weight. I know my body has changed for good because that’s the reality after having two kids, but that doesn’t mean I can’t lose these last pounds. I’m determined to beat this one!
I was tempted to post a pic of me with a midriff workout top as a before pic and have an after one taken on a specific date so I can stay on track with this, but I’m not that stupid!!! So, there will be a series of posts till 12/20 of which my Gold’s Gym membership will have expired since I’m on a 3 month groupon promo. Blogging will keep me somewhat accountable I hope. I’ve learned how to do 3 new machines which will help tone my lunch lady arms, and one machine which I love to do because it’s one I feel confident knowing that I’m using it correctly. See –
The one where you squeeze your legs together to work off the thigh fat! Easy to do, no brainer right? There are some crazy looking machines at the gym that I wish I knew how to use or at least have the balls to ask a worker to show me, but I’m shy. Soooo…I drag my hubs with me so he can show me and we can look amateur together.
Here’s to losing weight before the year ends!
