Just a quick hello!
It’s been awhile since I posted anything! Things are a bit crazy in our household. My nanny left for the motherland for a few weeks, and my mother in law flew in today to help watch the kiddos. I had to do a thorough cleaning of our guest bedroom and put away my crafts and sewing machine so my MIL could have some space in that room. Gosh no words can describe how thankful I am that she flew across the country to help us. I’m loving this family time especially since the girls only get to see their grandparents once a year.
Speaking of family time, the hubs has taken on a new schedule at work and leaves early in the morning so he can come home by 5! He’s never been home by 5 consistently for the past 7 years of our marriage. It’s making life in the evenings pretty darn awesome. Having help with bathing the kids and getting them ready for bed is nice, but getting to eat dinner as a family is what I cherish and is my absolute favorite time of day. We turn on some fun music in the background, the girls help me get the utensils and napkins ready, they pass out the placemats, and daddy gets the drinks ready…love it!! I’ve been missing out big time. I don’t actually just eat oatmeal for dinner anymore. HA!
I’ll leave ya with some new snacks I discovered that my girls love and I actually love too. Let me tell you – it is soooo hard to find a healthy snack that my oldest can eat and eat and eat and not get sick of.
The one on the left is called Crispi Roll 12 Grain, and it’s a crunchy bar made of brown rice, pearl barley, buckwheat, mung beans, speckled kidney bean, black soybeans, oatmeal (yay), pea, small red beans, black glutinous rice, corn, and husked lotus. Umm…doesn’t sound so yummy, but it’s pretty darn addicting and healthy too! You can find this at a Korean grocery store. The one on the right is like a quick peanut butter and jelly mini snack which I give my girls if we’re on the go. Perfect size and enough to hold them over till the next meal. I bought it at Target.

Lucky you! What you described (dinner time), sounds so dreamy to me!!! Monday night i ate cheese and crackers because there was nothing else to eat. The hubs ended up bringing back McDonalds…woke up, scarfed it down and went back to sleep. HA!
