So my oldest requested a doll awhile back. Since she’s old enough to “customize” her doll, I let her rummage through my craft closet.
Her choices were:
- Orange hair
- Brown moon eyes
- Fun Japanese fabric
- Her idea of jeans
- Green shoes
Alrighty, let’s do this!
So far, I’m loving the look. I like how this is becoming a colorful doll!
You can see the progress I made on the Land of Nod look alike wool felt strands. Not much since I last blogged about it. Maybe I’ll get to it after Saturday morning’s stress reliever with friends…

Although the hubs had to go into work for an emergency today, we got a lot done this weekend. Picked up my counter stools, and we have a winner! FINALLY. I got to use my 15% off coupon at Crate and Barrel, so that made it even better. I’m just happy to stop the search now.
Happy dance for mommy! The girls love music, so I can’t wait for Lila to start ballet classes this summer. I’m contemplating on signing them up for a sibling music class, but it’s after work. Can I commit? On another note, I’ve found a new fave place to shop for kid’s clothes…H&M. I still love Old Navy and Target, but H&M has some cute clothes for decent prices. Her outfit above is all from H&M. She wears that twirly denim skirt to death. Seriously working near outlet shops is hurting my wallet!
We tried a new sandwich shop called Which Wich, and the hubs was drooling over his sandwich because it reminded him of his favorite sandwich shop in Chicago called Potbellys. You get a brown paper sandwich bag of which you choose your meats, cheeses, toppings, etc. When your sandwich is ready, you pick it up in that bag. Pretty good but I still have to say nothing beats a good ol Cold Cut Subway sandwich.
I started a new craft project, and I’m not sure how it will even turn out because I’m not following a tutorial. Kinda just going with it after seeing this picture on the Land of Nod catalog.
I thought it would be so fun to have a bunch of these wool felt shapes hanging from a large embroidery hoop. I want some color and pop to the playroom. I made two strands in a few minutes time, but I don’t know how it will be cutting that many circles. For now, maybe I’ll just have triangles and flag shapes.
Off to more sewing…
This week is going to go by super quick! Half day Friday to get ready for a rehearsal dinner and then THE wedding of the year! My dress is being altered (for the second time) because the alterations lady made by dress too short. I guess a bridesmaid with a mini skirt is a no-no.
